Loving God - Growing Spiritually - Helping Others

In 1998, we adopted a fresh revelation on global evangelism and kingdom growth. The vision was to become a mission’s church, not just a church that did missions. To facilitate this, Ps Helen Rogers (pictured left) was appointed Missions Director: and in the past 13 years our church has given more than AUD $4.5 million in support funding, we have sent 40 of our members out as field workers, and - in partnership with Ps Lindsay Clarke and Metamorphic International – we have helped to plant over 10,000 documented new churches around the world.

Further to this, we established a major outreach at home in Australia with the development of our television programme, LifeSource. Launching in October 2002, LifeSource has broadcast on Foxtel’s Australian Christian Channel, and on TVS in Sydney for the past decade. In 2009 LifeSource shifted focus when the production duties changed hands from programme founder Peter Sneesby to Shane Miller. The newly dubbed “LifeSource @ North Shore Christian Centre” began a concerted effort to “tell them through media”: most recently launching web-based LifeSource Minisodes.

In 2007, our former youth pastor, Ps Darren McMahon (pictured right with wife Belinda), was released to begin a high school ministry that would “Help Young People Live Their Dreams.” He called this ministry Your Dream, and in the last 4 years over 400 schools and 400,000 high school students have been reached around the nation.

ShoreCare’s impact upon our local community has continued to expand in the past 20 years, with millions of dollars given in aid, thousands of volunteer hours worked, and hundreds of local families receiving assistance with no expectation of return. One of the great initiatives conducted under the ShoreCare banner was The Rainbow Room. It was an avenue of support and TLC for over 350 local families who were caring full-time for someone (usually a child) with a serious illness or disability. More recently, we partnered with The Housing Connection (a community-based support service for local residents with disabilities) to offer free home makeovers to their clients, as well as providing a free weekly venue for music therapy. Also in the last few years, ShoreCare has partnered with numerous local charities and government departments to distribute hundreds of free Christmas hampers to families in our local community, and hundreds of gifts to children in need.
